Adding comments to a flowchart is very easy and very useful, especially for public and shared projects. Comments allow you to explain the flowchart and also assist in development of the project.

Comments can be used to for a wide range of different purposes, for example, they can be used to explain how the program works as well as marking which sections need to be edited and which areas should not be touched.  Comments also allow you to mark where you stopped working on a project to quickly continue where you left off, you can also highlight areas for further expansions in the future.
