New online Electronic Circuits & Components course
One
of the new additions to our site are our online courses. Many years
ago, Matrix used to be a CD publisher for schools. First Geography, then
Maths, Electronics and Embedded Programming. But then the Internet
arrived and content like this became free, so we began to produce
electronic learning resources.
However, many years of development went into our
range of CDs and we are proud of what we achieved. We have decided to
begin to make this content available for free to all on our website. To
begin with we have released our Electronics Circuits & Components
content, if it proves popular watch this space for more!
Click here to access the free course.

Hybrid vehicle training kit from Matrix
The
Hybrid demonstrator includes a Hybrid engine, a battery and an
Electronic Control Unit, several meters showing power flow between the
units, a brake switch and a potentiometer mimicking the accelerator
pedal. The ECU controls the system to show students how the power is
routed in a hybrid depending on the State of Charge of the Battery, and
to allow them to make measurements on the engine performance under
different load conditions. The system can also be used to show the
effects of regenerative braking. Two models are available:
a bench top version and a panel mounted version.
