Release of the brand new EB069 - Wireless LAN E-block
The
wireless LAN E-block board allows easy access to standard Wireless
local area networks. The onboard TCP/IP stack allows for easy
communications withouth the need for a TCP/IP stack on the
microcontroller. The board is capable of being a client or a server on a
network, meaning that the E-block board can also be used to host a
wireless network. The board is also capable of serving html and
javascript compatible webpages in either mode.
The board is priced at £110.00

Release of the brand new EB066 - GSM/GPRS E-block
The
Quad Band GSM/GPRS E-block board allows easy access to the mobile phone
GSM/GPRS networks. The onboard GSM/GPRS module can be used to make or
receive wireless voice calls and is also capable of sending and
receiving SMS text messages. The GSM/GPRS E-block comes complete with
onboard PCB antenna, SIM card socket, 2.5mm audio jacks for MIC and
Headphone audio connections and an LED to display the network connection

User Article: Dual Channel Temperature Data Logger
Author: John Crow
In this article John shows
us how he designed a dual channel temperature data logger using Matrix
E-blocks, some custom hardware and the Flowcode programming language. In
the article he breaks down the various macros he used and explains the
programming thought process behind each one. Included in the article is
the Flowcode file itself allowing you to view the program in full. John
will receive £150 worth of free Matrix products for the submission of
his article! If you have an interesting project using Matrix products
and would like some free goods, write an article and submit it to us or
post on the forums to maybe have it published!

User Article: Converting between Int and Hex
Author: Martin Whitlock
One common occurance in
programming is having to switch between using integers and hexadecimal
values, either when sending data via RS232 or other similar occurances.
What Martin has done is create a flowchart which anyone can use and put
into their program which will allow them to convert between integers and
hex values. In the article itself Martin explains the program and the
reasoning behind some of his decisions. Martin will receive £150 worth of free Matrix products for the submission of his article!

Win £150 of Matrix goods in our Web & Social Networking Questionnaire
We
are launching another one of our questionnaires, and with it you could
be in with a chance to win £150 worth of Matrix goods of your choice. We
have made a lot of changes recently to our website, and have an
interest in expanding our marketing efforts into Social Networking sites
such as Facebook or LinkedIn, we are very interested in the feedback of
our readers to help us to decide whether we pursue these avenues and
whether they would be of use to our customers.
If you have five minutes to spare please fill out our web and social networking questionnaire here.
ECIO - USB programmable single board computer
Back in 2007 we brought out a great little device we called an ECIO.
These are small inexpensive, stand-alone, directly reprogrammable
microcontrollers that are ideal for getting started with microcontroller
programming. They can be used in protoboards or embedded directly onto
your PCB to provide a truly flexible way of developing your application.
You can program them directly from Flowcode or use any other language
of your choice.
- Programmable via USB |
- Consistent footprint
|
- Easy to use |
- Very low cost |
- Has its own bootloader |
- Reset switch |
- 24kb flash memory |
- 2kb RAM |
Fast
forward to 2011 and it seems that everyone has brought out an ECIO-like
product, so this seems like a good time to remind everyone of our ECIO
product range, however only ECIO is directly compatible with Flowcode; and you can use even your ECIO with your existing E-blocks using the EB061 Application Board.
