Hello Wolfgang.
Yes - it looks like when a variable is renamed, the variables become un-ordered. You will need to reorder them again by clicking the appropriate column heading.
When you click the "Name" column heading, the variables will be displayed in ascending alphabetical order. Pressing the "Name" column again will display the variables in descending alphabetical order.
I hope this explains things.

Hello Steve
"to rearrange the variables in an order (e.g. by drag-drop) and have them always appear in this order"
I think this is a good way becouse if i must delite any Var. e.g b1.....b5
after a new start,so i come to the same Var.
If the Var-Window is not close after one operating that great
and
If i can mark e.g. b1....b5 and delete with one click also.

I’d like to see them sorted in ascending alphabetical order every time the window is opened, but later changeable to something else. I don’t understand how it chooses the order at the moment.
Also useful if sorting was case insensitive otherwise variables voltage 1 and Voltage 2 can be listed a long way apart on the list.
This applies both to the lists of variables in the run mode and in the entering symbols phase
