Sim7600 UART connection
SIM7600 Series_Hardware Design_V1.04 documents tells user to pay attention to Sim7600 module Rx,Tx pins voltage (1.8v).
There are a lot of level shifters for 5v to 3.3v design.
Sim7600 document suggest to use high speed transistors such as MMBT3904 to connect Sim7600 to 5v MC.
However such a small transistor (Surface Mount) hard to solder in a simple DIY setup.
Question
Is it possible to use the low voltage high speed npn through-hole transistor?
What would be the best one to use for low voltage high speed design?

Hi
Why not use a module such as :-
sparkfun-logic-level-converter-bi-directional
available from all the usual suspects. This can go down to 1.8v and is very easy to use. Just connect your High and Low voltages (+5v and +1.8v), Ground and then your pins.

From Amazon, but available from many sources including mainstream

Circuit simulation using the MOSFETs used in the above confirms 1.8v - 5v operation.
Depending on the transistors used in the convertors you already have they may well work down at 1.8v too. Worth trying.
