the feel of ver 6

Post by Bill Felker »

WOW, I like ver 5 way better .The whole feel of setting it up with components is very confusing . And then running a simple simulations was a disaster. I am sure it is me but I like the feel of ver 5 way better when it comes to components and their connections. I will try to watch the videos and see if it better after but ver 5 was simple to do every thing and this has become very complicated and busy on the screen. Sorry for the bitching but it was not what I expected it to be once I started it up and played with it for a while.

Hi Bill
Stick with it a while, V6 is a big improvement, but takes a while to get used to some of the new features and ways things work.
I wouldnt go back to V5 now.

One of the big drives behind v6 was the component creator, allowing other users to be able to quickly and easily create their own components, to do this we had to make some concessions on how the components are displayed and setup to the user, we know a lot of people liked the dialogue windows that popped up for each component but to build in a dialogue box builder into Flowcode was not really viable.

I really would go through the videos as they may help explain a bit better.

Thanks David, I will give the videos a try and see if I have better luck. Part of the problems is when I get set on something it seems to not be easy to change. I ran a simple simulation to try it vers ver5 and ver5 work as expected and was much easier to set up .I am sure it is me but I had to vent before bad.FWIW I did sleep well afterwards.

Hi Bill,

We understand and it was a difficult decision for us to drop the dialog menus, but hopefully the added advantage of being able to download other peoples components and create your own will out weigh that change.

Hopefully you will get used to it and see how much more powerful Flowcode has become, we will constantly be releasing examples and articles to our blog
