Re: flowcode on tablets
Hi
Interesting idea
I believe FC will run under Linux using WINE on a PC , though I've never tried it.
You can always download the free 30day trial and give it a go. Dont forget the FC6 install file is over 200MB
You wont be able to connect the Matrix hardware to the tablet. You'd have to export the FC file or at least the hex file to a PC to program hardware.

Re: Flowcode 6 on Kali Linux
Hi AO
As I replied to your other post, It may run under Linux using WINE Certainly more likely to work on a PC than a tablet.
Don't think it will make any difference between 32 or 64 bit.
But I don't know if the hardware drivers will work.
The trial is free so you have nothing to lose by trying.
You can find examples and tutorials here

30day trial can be downloaded here

Re: Flowcode 6 on Kali Linux
I have merged the two topics as they basically concern the same question.
Flowcode will not run on Linux. Flowcode version 3 did work using Crossover Games edition (commercial product based on Wine, the Office version of Crossover did not work), however as John mentioned the resulting file could not be written to hardware with the Matrix software on Linux. None of the later version is usable on Linux. Flowcode 6 crashes during startup.
Flowcode does run on Windows 8 tablets with an 'conventional' Pentium successor CPU, like the Microsoft Surface Pro tablets. (These tablets run any Windows software, so it should be no surprise Flowcode runs as well) However, the Flowcode user interface is not particularly suited for use on a touch screen. Mouse and keyboard work a lot better.

Re: Flowcode 6 on Kali Linux
Hi AO,
I tried flowcode with linux mint 17 cinnamon and wine about 6 months ago but i couldn't get it to work correctly , i do know that there has been a lot of updates in LM17 in hardware drivers and other things . I haven't had chance to have another go .
maybe someone from matrix can advise
http://wiki.winehq.org/USB
http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... ce+drivers
Hope this helps
Steve
Edit :- forgot to put this bit in it's mentioned in the Linux mint forum post (above)
"Wine can NOT be used to install or utilize Windows drivers."
kersing has asked me to take some screen shots and post on here . I can do but it will be later on in the week maybe Friday

Re: Flowcode 6 on Kali Linux/tablet
Tearing Flowcode away from a Microsoft only environment is on our todo list, but rest assured it is not going to be an easy task, the code base is heavily entwined with Microsoft libraries.
It definitely is something we want to do though.

@steve
So You found a way to run flowcode on Linux Mint?
That sounds awesome.
Can I do this on a virtual machine?
Thanks

Hi, AO
Sorry no Flowcode WILL NOT work on linux at present
Due to the heavy usage of windows libraries
"Wine can NOT be used to install or utilize Windows drivers."
kersing wanted me to post some screen shots (see the last pic posted this shows the errors)

Hi Steve,
That is exactly what I'm seeing. Thank you for taking time to create the screen shots.
Best regards,
