PicKit2 = USB Cable not Connected error

Never managed to use my new PICkit3

If you use the PICkit 3 with MPLAB or the stand alone programming software then it puts the PICkit 3 into a special mode which then cannot be used with the command line tool. There is a way to revert the PICkit back to allow the command mode to work if this has happened to you. I think the tell tale error message was "unrecognized response" or something along those lines.

Ah, that could be a problem as I think I tried MPLAB after failing to get it to talk to Flowcode. What it the way to revert it?

Interesting thing is that I have now gone back to V3 for one project and in that PICkit 2 works OK at least some of the time. Seem to get an Error 37, or maybe it is 47, some of the time but a reboot of PC cures that. So if the problem is incompatibility of PK2CMD with Windows 7 why would it work in v3 but not v5?
