Connectors on the HP488

Post by herc-pilot »

Who makes and/or what are the part numbers for J4 and J13 on the HP488?

They seem to be odd versions of the RJ45, horizontal ones I've never seen before?

Dear Herc-Pilot,

The connectors are called 'BT connectors' after BT (British Telecom) that used them as standard connectors for telephones here in Britain.
(not sure what they are called elsewhere).
They are used for phones, modems and sensors.
There are two types - left hand and right hand, depending on where the latch part is on the socket.
When used as sensors the left hand type is commonly used for Analogue sensors, and right hand one ones used for digital sensors.

You can get them from electronics parts supplies such as Rapid (http://www.rapidelectronics.co.uk). I'm assuming other places have them as well, but rapid definately do.

P.s. you still fly Hercs?

Thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can get them here in the states.

Yes, I do.
I've flown the herc for last 14 years and it's still my favorite.

Thanks.

Was asking about the Herc as I have just recently got the Captain Sim Herc for Microsoft Flight sim and am busy crashlanding that at various airports. Lovely plane the Herc.
