rotory or quadrature encoders

Post by Bobw »

Anyone have a source for a through hole. (panel mount) rotor encoder?
I am looking for 2 of them that have a min 20 pulses per rev with no detents.

Also, how hard is it to use flowcode with a graphical LCD ? I have used the character types but not the graphical ones.

Hi Bob

Not sure where you would get one in the states
Possibly mouser or I think farnell have a distributor in the states.

The EB057 display has a macro in flowcode 4 or 5
Fairly easy to use have a look at the matrix demo file. I can upload a simple program later when I get home if you still are looking.

John,
I have been looking at Mouser, have their printed catalog right here. Still gathering ideas and parts for my next project.
Trying to get my FC home upgraded to Pro at the moment.
Will have to look into the Graphical LCD, would make things really look nice compared to a 4x20 display.

Hi Bob

Ive attached a example using the EB057
TPA81- gLCD-LCD-Software V5 - Int.fcf
(30.24 KiB) Downloaded 317 times
This shows the 8 channels from a TPA81 thermopile as a simple line graph
The device is read by the I2C bus
