The following message is displayed in the popup.

"Can't find valid registration information. Please call LicenseInfo function with the registration key before call any other functions of the NTPort Library. Refer to the document and samples for details"

Now I cannot find any Registration options or menu in PPP and as for the document and samples for details I am not sure to which you document or samples that you refer ?.

Is the board and the PC application communicating fine, is the program properly active for usage ?.

Sounds like an installation problem. Please download and install the latest version of PPP from here:

I updated my Flowcode 3 to a newer version and now I get the same message. Did you find an answer for the previous post?

This was a Vista problem - found the answer on another post:

Right click on Computer and goto properties.

Click On Device manager.

Goto Unversal Seral Bus Devices and double click it to open the contents.

Double click on the Matrix USB Development Board.

Click on the Power management tab.

Untick the box that says "Allow this device to be powered down"

Click OK and the development board should now be working correctly again.

This fix does not appear to work for Windows 7, 32 bit. Does anyone have any up-to-date suggestions?

Mac

The latest drivers should not have this problem. You can download them from our Learning Centre.

Thank you very much Steve.
As it turns out, I had previously downloaded and installed the newer version of PPP, but that was not my problem at all. When I was setting up the chip configuration for a PIC18F4550, I clicked on OPTIONS, then SET DEFAULTS. As I learned in another post, the PIC18F4550 is more complicated than simpler MCU's, and selecting defaults just isn't going to work most of the time. I went back to the chip configuration and set the Osc Select to no divide, Oscillator to HS: USB-HS, Watchdog Timer to disabled and Low Voltage Program to disabled. In the Project Options I set the frequency of the crystal on the HP488 board of 19660800 Hz. Now every thing works and I'm a happy camper.
Thank You Again
