Re: I2C Slave Simulation

Yes I2C slave for connecting two pics and capacitive touch are the two a basic things I am also really looking for.

Re: Flowcode on an Apple computer.

Hi I got a Mac Book Pro.
Installed Parallels. Flowcode and Pic Kit2 just had to enable the network of windows, for the purpose of activating Flowcode.
After that I disabled the network for windows so chances of getting viruses etc are small.
Thanks for all the good info.

Re: Soldering paste

Hi I am just about to order some solder paste. This will be my first time trying solder paste. I can get a 35ml syringe, or a 250g Tin. What can be kept longer a syringe or in a tin? How much can I do with a 35ml syringe? Just wonder if the solder tin will become unusable before I can ever finish it...

Re: LED string with PWM

Hi I am actually not an expert on Batteries I am planning to use it on a a cheap LED Latern that I already bought. It uses four AAA batteries. On the electronic side it is just has a switch and a resistor. I put in rechargable metal hydride batteries, and of course it gives only a weak light because...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi. I finally got it working fine putting to Sleep, and waking it up at a slow speed for checking the Capacitive Pads. I think this can save tremendous energy by only needing a 8 us delay after wake up. If it would wake up at 32MHz you would need to wait 2ms or more for the PLL to stabilize. When a ...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi Benj, I see I would also need a C code block to edit ADCON1 register. In order to adjust ADCS Bits when frequency is changed. I guess in flowcode this gets automatically set under the ADC Component settings under EXT properties. However when changing frequency while the program is running i would...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi, Just found the reason for the instability that came with the modified code. That uses the sleep command. I had removed the delay within the Capacitive sense macro, that is used to set the speed the PWM increases. I put it in a different part of the program so it will check the Capacitive touch p...

Changing Clockspeed while program is running?

Hi Just have a question about clock speed. Is it possible to use different clock speeds within a program. For example for energy saving. Say your pic wakes up from time to time to measure a voltage. Etc. you do not need high clock speed, but when you start a PWM you want the Pic to run at a higher f...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi to all.
I just wonder how long it takes for the high speed oscillator to stabilize after start up.
Would it be advisable to put a delay before doing capacitive touch sensing?
How long does an oscillator take till it is stable after start up?

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi, I just found a mistake in the Code a posted previously. (Cap_dimm_switch2) The ontime variable has an initial value of 10 instead of zero, that is why it came on initially when plugged in. Just got sleep and wake up working. I read in the datasheet of the PIC12F1822 it says you can only use time...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi. I just read the data sheet of the Pic12 F 1822 about ADC during sleep mode. It looks like you can give it the instruction to Read a ADC just before the sleep command, and then it will actually go to sleep before reading the ADC. If you enable the ADC interrupt it will wake up after reading the A...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi, Just want to share some success. I added a delay between the reading of the two pads. Now it works 100% with thicker Perspex. It is really amazing. See attached code. Cap_dimm_switch2.fcf I just have another question in my mind. The data sheet of the PIC12F1822 says that you can do both re...

Re: Soldering paste

Hi Thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately I could not watch the video, my internet connection is too slow. But I got some useful Information on the forum link. Re: Soldering paste

Hi Dazz
Thanks for the info.
If it is just a issue of getting runny, and can be used again after being in a fridge then I could take the risk of ordering online.
But if it is an issue of the paste getting permanently changed then I would have to look into that.

Soldering paste

Hi I experimented a bit with surface mount parts and I got to like it. But with normal solder wire it is quite a Job to solder all the parts. Now I am thinking of using soldering paste. It seems solder paste is usually shipped with a cold pack. Till it reaches me it will take about 3 week. About two...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi I think the Issue with the 5mm perspex is stray capacitances or something like that introduced through the thick perspex. Just after connecting it to a power source it does all kinds of funny things. But after 5 Minutes or so it works perfectly. I wonder if it will help to make a bigger time diff...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Thanks I also was thinking about this, however I could not get Internal voltage reference to work on this chip. I posted about this in an other thread but did not get an answer yet. On the sensitivity variable I could put some bigger value, I am sure I could put it at least 3 times higher but did no...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi Just want to share some more. For it to work I added a filter. So I can use greater sensitivity. I do not know if this is needed but It should do away with the need of adjustment for each pad when reading through perspex. Also I added some calculations on the beginning of the program so I can pla...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi Martin.
I edited the file you mentioned, and now it is working perfectly.
It even works through 2mm perspex.
I love the capacitive touch, because I never found buttons and switches I really like.

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi. I sucessfully used the program on a Pic12F1822. It worked fine. But then I discovered that I used the Configuration for the Pic 16F1939. So I changed it to the Configuration for the Pic 12F1822 and it did not work. Then I remembered about the need for modification of the Cal_ADC However the PIC1...

Hi Enamul. I was ableto reduce the ram usage quite a lot, and i was able to compile it. I just want get a better understanding of Local variables. Are they slower than global variables, would you recommend them in a fast interrupt that is used for a software PWM, or is it better to use a global vari...

Re: No capactive sensing (CPS) module in FC 5

Hi Ben. Thanks for your help. The Ground plane is in a grid form, would it help to make the touch pad in a grid form as well. The question I actually had on my mind is this could one change the macro to read ADC as Int? The circuit is quite stable but with a difference value of only 2 could you get ...
