Re: Trying to use API Sound.Play
Mine is a valid .wav file, but I tried your TETRIS.WAV as suggested and it doesn't play either.
Your code uses simulation and component macros.
The User Guide implies that all I need to use is a calculation. Is the UG incorrect, or do I simply not understand how to use API stuff?

Trying to use API Sound.Play
I wish to play a bell sound, using file bell.wav For this API the user guide says ... Calling in a calculation Declare a variable 'result' of type BOOL Add to a calculation icon: result = ::Sound.Play("filename") I have done that, but I get no sound played, and the result variable's value is True, e...

How do I simulate an abort/halt?
(Version 6.1.3.2) My application has an emergency STOP button and I need the program to abort upon pressing of that button. I have INT0 on the chip assigned to the STOP button and a small interrupt routine associated with it. To avoid having to test an interrupt status flag in many places throughout...

Re: Illuminated push button object
Thanks for the reply. In reality, such buttons come in two kinds: those where the LED (or neon) is internally wired to the switch so that it signals the switch's status as on of off, and those where the LED is independent of the switch and can be wired to signal the status of the switch or the statu...

Illuminated push button object
Has anyone developed an illuminated version of the panel push button object? Especially, one that can be set to any color in the palette? Real world example: https://www.digikey.com/-/media/Images/Product%20Highlights/E/E-Switch/Switch%20Solutions/66.jpg?la=en-FI&ts=95eb54f8-4d1a-40fc-b759-7b745d3ee...

Re: Flowcode V7
Is there anything in particular you would like to see relating to the simulation? Would like confirmation that the bug associated with breakpoints not being honored in simulation has been fixed. It has been reported here: https://www.matrixtsl.com/mmforums/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=16688 ... and should ...

Revamping look and feel is fine, as long as you have fixed the reported bugs in V6, especially those related to simulation.

Re: Flowcode V7
That issue is a biggie with me, too. As I've said in relation to it: a key reason for using FC is its simulation capability. For me, it's paramount that simulation work properly in V7.Steve wrote:We're looking into that issue with ICD breakpoints at slower sim speeds and hope to resolve it for the release.

Re: Flowcode V7
Thanks Ben, that's some list!
In the past, apart from 10F2xx, I've been snookered by lack of support for 12F5xx and 16F5xx chips. Those are in your mega list, so I'm happy for now.

At the other end of the spectrum, I'm looking forward to a return of FC support for the PIC 10F2xx line, so please ensure that's in place from day 1.

Re: Flowcode V7
Great news, especially the adoption of the XC compiler! Good riddance to Error Code 1 messages.
Is this an upgrade for V6 users, or do we have to repurchase the product?

I take it you mean View -> Global Options -> Locations Tab (as before).
So, one uses the "..." button to select the desired directory. I'll try that when I next have access to his machine.

Re: Assembler variable values such as 'outdir'
Thanks for the lightning quick reply! I don't recall setting my outdir value, unless it was done during initial installation? Reason I ask is that I was using a friend's FC V6 implementation today and the hex file was being written into some bizarre windows temp directory. I have no idea how that ca...

Assembler variable values such as 'outdir'
Using Windows, Flowcode 6.1.
Where can I see the current value of an assembler variable such as 'outdir'.
Also, where in Flowcode are such variables' values set/mapped/changed?

Please add 8000000 (8MHz) Clock Speed
Please add 8000000 (8MHz) to the Clock Speed drop down list in Program Options --> General Options
Sure, it can be typed in but it's a very common speed for PICs and should be in the list already.

Re: PIC12F508 -- trivial program fails to compile to hex
Hello, The BoostC compiler we are using does not currently support the 12F5xx and 16F5xx devices which is why your getting compilation errors. Bummer. I'm trying to do a like-for-like on this job. We have a plan in motion to support more of the PIC range of devices and so hopefully we will have a w...

PIC12F508 -- trivial program fails to compile to hex
Similar problem to the one I reported here:
http://www.matrixtsl.com/mmforums/viewt ... 59&t=16833
Don't know what you guys did to fix the 12F609 chip config file, but it seems the same needs to be done for the 12F508 and maybe also for its cousins 12F509 and 16F505.

osccon statement causes compile to hex failure
Flowcode v6.1.2.0 Chip: PIC 12F617 (Internal 4/8MHz oscillator) Adding the C code: osccon = 0x70; // 8MHz clock speed ... causes the BoostC compiler to fail with the infamous and always unhelpful "error code 1" message. The osccon statement is being inserted correctly into the generated C code. If I...

Re: Bugs and Issues List, please
Thanks for the reply. The main problem with such systems is that if people can report a bug then they will, in most cases without checking if the bug is already on the list and if what they are seeing is even a bug. Yes, it can become a bit circular in that regard, but I have seen it used to good ef...

Bugs and Issues List, please
I believe it would be a very useful aid to Flowcode users if Matrix would maintain on this site a list of reported bugs and issues, along with their status, updated periodically. Status typically includes: fixed in the next release/under investigation/workaround published/ etc, etc. Such a list (a) ...
