Re: Time to suffer!!!

Hello Cubitus54, Thanks a lot for your reply. I don't understand the program very well, Do I need extra hardware to be able to communicate with the time keeper using RS232? I got a little confuse.

Time to suffer!!!

I been trying a I2C communication program to set and read the registers of a DS1307 time keeper IC. I'm starting with a simple program to write and set the register 07h, to enable the square wave and set it to 1Hz. Then the program uses this signal to set B5 HI which will lit the LED of the arduino ...

Re: A project from hell!

Thanks a lot Benj, the project's result was impressive. I did only 2 changes: to implement two time delays in tho the macro GetRawTemp to be able to read the SPI data. Looks like the scan time was faster than the MAX6675 response and the data was stuck in only one value and convert the RealTemo to F...

Re: A project from hell!

Thanks For your reply. I did my first attempt and I got some results but there are not the right bits. I'm using the arduino uno. I connect all my hardware and I'm able to see some data read out in the display. I'm not sure of how to manipulate the variable to store the 16 bit data. The temperature ...

Re: A project from hell!

Thanks a lot for your reply. Could you built a small example? I'm not very familiar with programming and it's hard to picture what you said. I will appreciate your help.

A project from hell!

I need to develop a high temperature thermometer to supervised a steam generator process. I will need to use a thermocouple type K to display temperatures over 500 degrees, in order to get accuracy I will use the MAX6675 and atmega 328 microcontroller; the only problem I'm having is with the SPI and...

SPI communications nightmare!

I have being trying to understand the SPI communications. In one hand there is an example available written one way, and in the other hand I read in the Matrix blog an article from Benjamin showing something completely different, there is any other example available? I'm trying to write a simple pro...

Hi guys thanks a lot for your replies. Medelec 35, I want to say thanks, I really appreciate your help and advice in this issue. The second version you upgrade works fantastic as well. I'm doing my program in blocks and this is just a part of it, a part that was eating my brains. Thanks for the info...

Re: Quad 7 segment set up nightmare

Dear medelec 35 thanks for all your help and advice, your version of my project works flawless, I just needed to change the reset counter from 1 to zero in the last decision box because it was resetting to zero every time I turn the quadrature encoder. I may change as well the resolution of the coun...

Quad 7 segment set up nightmare

I'm having a problem in trying to set up the quad-seven segment display. I have been reading the different forum topics about this and I found one about setting the proper clock speed for the different microcontrollers. I'm using the PIC 16F877a and looking at the datasheet I found out the instructi...

Thanks a lot guys I did not see that. by the way, there is any way to run the simulator for a communication program to test it? For example a very simple program as send variable values to another microprocessor? The problem I'm having is that I making an oven controller, this controller should be a...

Re: It's SPI Communications active?

Hi Ben thanks for your help. I upgrade my license to a professional version but I don't know if the SPI communications is active or not, why it looks like this? The first two options on the connections section are in solid black and you can click on port tab to check connection but the last three (M...

Re: It's SPI Communications active?

Ok got it. I'm sorry but I'm a new user for this software and I'm noticing the different formats of the different menus and components, when I see the words MISO, MOSI and CLK not highlighted like the rest of them I did not know if is because is not active or because the connections are done by defa...

Hello Dazz Thanks a lot for your help. here is my chart, the first part is to be able to use keypad to enter letters upper and lower case to the string. I need help

I need to know how to read the eprom data. I did a program for making a 16 letter recipe and stored it at eprom. I used a string variable "namearray[16]" it writes to the eprom sequentially by using a variable "ptr" to shift the address by one to store letter by letter. So the variable is namearray[...

Re: Compile to chip questions.

Hello good afternoon. Thanks a lot for your quick response to my questions. I did not answer right away because I did not believe I did something wrong in my flow chart. I checked the IC program in a circuit that I built myself and it works successfully, the problem is in my e-blocks settings or in ...

Compile to chip questions.

Hi, I don't have any experience as a chip programmer, I'm just starting. I'm having an issue with uploading data to the chip. When I download a program to the chip it works perfect in my hardware but after power down the board and reconnecting it later, I loose the chip data or it just does not work...
