Re: Suggestions on how to minimise code size
The reason I used the floating point was because of the following calculation......
Calculate_Degrees = BCD - (Delay_Time / Cycle_Time) * 360
Without using floating point values, It would always return BCD value only and I thought the floating point approach was the only way.

view variables in simulation mode
When running simulation, it says variables-unavailable yet when stepping they are visible.
I have tried selecting them but still no go.
Any suggestions..??

Suggestions on how to minimise code size
Have almost completed my first project using Flowcode 5 student version however when I compile it says I have gone over the 4K limit. This was some concern to me when I initially bought the program as I had no real indicaton of limitations. This has since been rectified in an earlier post and thanks...

Re: Version 5.5 memory space
Yes, I saw that before but it doesn't mean much if one cannot apply it in some form or other.
4K code limit but how does one measure that..??
Click on a saved program file which so far shows no sign of any limit and it's size is 20k so it can't be done that way.
Any other ideas..??

Re: Version 5.5 memory space
Sorry...misunderstanding here...should have been more precise with my question. I was referring to the flowcode program. When I was using the demo version, there were limitations and as I understood it, there were limits placed on the student version when I bought this also. The limitations are what...

Version 5.5 memory space
Is it possible to calculate the amount of memory (space) available to any particular program which is being written. I have the student version of v5.5 and currently writing a program and it would be convenient to know this before getting almost to the end and then have a limiter jump in and say it ...

Re: division
Downloaded your example and it would not work with the limit on the free version like you said.
So I set it for 16F628A and I could view the flowchart ok.
Only reference I saw to floating point was a variable named "count_float".
Tried to follow the flow chart but must admit to getting a bit lost.

I originally posted this in the wrong section I think. "I need to divide a time for an engine revolution by 360 to get time per degree. This will obviously be a .000 something or other so can you point me in the right direction on being able to read this in flowcodev5? I've tried it as a standard ca...

Flowcode seems a well designed system. Except for youtube lesson videos. Have to ask, did they originate from your company or are they done by someone else..??Very difficult to follow as there is no audio in many instances and cannot work out what is going on. All one can see is a cursor flicking al...
