Re: EB006 USB driver installation

I now have the drivers installed. :D The key point was to use the AMD driver. Steps were extract all the zip file and then delete the i386 folder. (could have done it with individual files and folders, but this worked!) Edit: and select the higher level folder for the driver, not the AMD folder. Fur...

Re: EB006 USB driver installation

In the zip file there ware not any EXE files. See image of zip file contents EB006 V9 USB zip contents.PNG It is V9. I'm on Intel with Win7 64 bit, so initially tried i386 as it is intel. The current situation is I can't try changing it as it states no driver is required an all the update buttons ar...

Re: 3C : LCD I2C

While surfing the forum to understand I2C and FC I came across this post: http://www.matrixtsl.com/mmforums/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=15045&p=61217&hilit=I2C+slave#p61217 It may not be relevant to your specific issue, but as it was interesting for I2C applications and as a good application note link thou...

Re: 3C : LCD I2C

I have looked at the schematic and PCB and nothing stands out as an error.

As you don't have a scope I would check the PCF8574T interface writing a simple program to flash the backlight on and off at 1Hz.
That would at least check out the basic ICD and chip.

Re: PIC programing and ICD options

Hi Benj, Thanks for prompt reply. You said " You won't be able to use the ICD/ICT features in Flowcode 5/6 but you will be able to program devices that are not supported by the EB006 and EB064 boards and SMD devices ". Is there a solution that will use the ICD/ICT features in Flowcode 5/6? I think t...

PIC programing and ICD options

Hi, I'm new here and a little confused with debugging and programming options. I have Flowcode V6 PIC16 PRO and looking to start with some of the faster advanced Microchip parts, so the broad question is what ICD/programmer works well with Flowcode? If I launch Flowcode and choose a 24EP128GP202, th...

Re: Microchip Microstick PIC24H

Thanks Benj, Nice reply. Perhaps with a statement like "but the EP range of dsPIC33 and PIC24 are pretty amazing and blow AVRs out the water." I should stay with the PIC for now..... If I do, does the http://www.mikroe.com/pic32/programmers-debuggers/ work directly with Flowcode? Or what would you r...

Re: Microchip Microstick PIC24H

Thanks Benj, I used Microchip ICD back with V4 ( I think), but would like to update my chip programming options. Currently I have V6 Pro for PIC16 as this seemed the sensible next step from the PIC options, however I'm now thinking that perhaps the AVR might have been a better option. Assuming I go ...

Re: 3C : LCD I2C

First I'm very new to Flowcode so am using this as part of my learning how programs are constructed, so I'm of little help here! BUT, I now recall having a similar problem with an LCD many years ago (Using STE bus and Arcom Basic) which I eventually located as the LCD's power up/ reset time. The iss...

Microchip Microstick PIC24H

Does the PIC16 support the Microstick?
I have the PIC24H selected in Matrix, but not sure if it can support the on board programmer?

Re: 3C : LCD I2C

Check the requirements of the contrast pin3. For other LCD's I have used the wiring pin3 direct to the supply pins will often not work. Place a 10k preset between +5 and GND and take the wiper to pin3. As you adjust the setting it should go from all pixel black to a blank display, and somewhere in b...

Re: ATMEGA32

As a first project, I would steer clear of MP3's and save that for later. As you like music, how about a mini disco light effects project? Start simple and flash some LEDS, then try PWM to vary brilliance. Add an A/D and digitise your music, you only need the lower frequencies and 'extract' the beat...

Re: ARM Debate

Just seen this post, I have been using the mBed for many prototypes and Flowcode would be great for that.

The mBed is compact, powerful, ready to use in a socket or breadboard and Flowcode would speed up the application development for areas the product is aimed at.

So nBed for me please!

Flowcode 6.0.10.0 install Trojan issue

Hi, just did an update to 6.0.10.0 and Norton Internet Security detects the activation file as a trojan. Flow Code licence trojan.PNG This caused my Pro install to downgrade to trial.... Took a chance and listed it as an exception and did the install a few times, but 'got there'! How can we verify t...

Re: Flowcode Release Candidate 6.0.6

Hi, I hoped to start learning Flowcode, so launched V6 (V6.0.3) and thought I'd check for any updates before starting and 'Help about' said 6.0.7 is available so I did a download and update. Launching Flowcode after an apparently successful update it started. The PIC24FJ128GC010 was not present so I...

Re: DesignSpark PCB

Hi, I have used Design Sparks PCB V3 for a double sided pcb. The outline was quite complicated with tappered sides, cutouts for internal pillars and a profile that followed the internal case profile. I used DXF import to get the board outline into DS3 which after getting the units right went smoothl...

Re: PCB layout and schematic software

Hi, I have just completed my Design Sparks V3 PCB layout which I had manufactured by PCB-Pool. Everything worked first time, which was very pleasing at it was my first surface mount board layout. I found DS3 was very good once I had passed the normal learning curve entry point. Some users criticise ...
