Example 1:

Determine the primary voltage (V_P) in a transformer which has 800 primary turns when the peak flux within the magnetic circuit is 1.25mWb at a frequency of 50Hz.

Using V_P = 4.44 f N_P Φ_max

V_P = 4.44 x 50 x 800 x 1.25 x 10^-3 volts

thus V_P = 222V.
